Ann Collins, Western Illinois University professor emeritus, maintains a busy schedule as an instructor of jazz piano clinics for classically-trained piano teachers. She has made numerous presentations at MENC and MTNA National Conferences, the International Association for Jazz Education, the National Group Piano Symposium, and the National Piano Pedagogy Conference; has served as a member of the International Association for Jazz Education resource team representing studio teachers; and has been a featured clinician on numerous state convention programs and university seminars. Also, Ann was a co-author of the MTNA/IAJE "Jazz Studies Guide".

Ann is the author of the "Sing and Play" preschool piano series (Stipes) and "Lead Lines and Chord Changes" (Alfred). Her publication "Jazz Works," (Alfred) is designed to help bridge the gap between traditional piano study and jazz instruction, and her most recent publication "Jazz Piano Projects: Pre-Jazz Level" (FJH) presents ear-training, improvisation, and harmonic activities for young students, as a supplement to traditional lessons, in preparation for jazz piano study.
